Tap water is generally healthier than soft drinks, but concerns remain. The Environmental Working Group reports over 315 pollutants found in tap water, with more than half unregulated and legally present at any level. As awareness of contamination grows, many people question tap water safety, driving increased demand for alkaline/ionized water.
Bottled water is often assumed to be healthier, yet it can cost significantly more without proven benefits. In many cases, the only difference is added minerals with no confirmed health value. A four-year Natural Resources Defense Council study found that one-third of bottled water tested exceeded contamination limits. Bottled water may also be slightly acidic and its plastic production and disposal harm the environment.
Bottled water can cost up to 10,000 times more than tap water. In major cities, about 100 million plastic bottles are consumed annually, with 35% not recycled. All tap water contains millions of impurities, many undetectable by taste, sight, or smell. Advanced purification systems remove these contaminants, providing clean drinking water, supporting healthy crops, preventing irrigation blockages, improving industrial efficiency, and extending appliance lifespan.
The process by which water is separated into acidic and alkaline water is electrolysis, a method that uses water ionizer to change the water’s molecular balance; the resulting pH level determines whether the output is acidic water or alkaline water. The acidic water produced is commonly used for external applications such as cleaning, sanitizing, and skin care, while Kangen water—ranging from mildly alkaline to high alkaline levels—is used for drinking, food preparation, and various household purposes, depending on its pH strength.
Upgrading your home water routine can reduce single-use plastics and lower the long-term cost of bottled water—while improving consistency and convenience.
